How it works?
Artists upload their paintings to our database from around the world.
When you buy a painting, we contact the artists to make sure this unique and original painting is still available.
The artist then packages the paintings and ships it to the buyer.
Shipping is free! But depending on the location of the artist and your own location, you might have to pay for customs or import fees. No fees for shipping within the same country or within the European Union (EU).
If you have a problem with a painting, get in contact with us (firstname.lastname@example.org). We will deal with the artist and make sure everybody is happy.
We keep your money on a frozen account until you have received the painting. Only then the artist will receive his share. That way we can make sure the painting is delivered and confirms to your expectations.
What is wydr?
Wydr is the open art-trading platform – your easy access to the art world.
For the artist, we provide exposure, a marketplace to facilitate the selling process, and channel user feedback in a new and unique way. It is all about bringing your art to the right people.
Because your art deserves to be seen by the right people.
How can I join as an artist?
As an artist there are no restrictions as we are the open art-trading platform: if you want us to show and sell your art to the world just follow the links on either the app or the website. We would need the following information – as indicated on the form to upload your art work:
And every artist can join as an art lover as well: just download the app, register yourself, and start exploring the art world.
What do I have to do when an art lover buys one of my art pieces?
How to pack the art piece?
As you created the art piece we trust in you that you know what to do in order to have it shipped safely to the art lover. In doubt, there are plenty of videos to be found on YouTube that describe tips and tricks and detail.
What happens if I sell an art piece that is also displayed on wydr?
As long as your art piece is displayed on wydr it is “open” for sale through wydr. However, you are allowed to sell it through other channels. Once sold, don’t forget to remove your art piece from wydr. Just write us an email to email@example.com and we will remove the art piece from our database.
How is the final price determined?
We have different categories on wydr like „original paintings”, "new media", "sculptures" and „photography“.
We ask you (the artist / the seller) how much you want to have for the painting (in EUR). Depending on which category your listed item belongs to (original vs. print) we will add a commission and shipping cost to your asked price. For original art works we add a commission of 30%, for digital prints and other media the final price depends on the size of the work and your requested price. Our commission might be up to 100%.
For example: You ask for 200 EUR. Then your item will be listed at 260 EUR plus estimated shipping fee. If sold, you get your 200 EUR, resulting in a revenue split of 77 / 23%.
What is the shipping fee and how is it determined?
As a basis we are using the ratest that are available by shipping providers such as Hermes (see also https://www.myhermes.de/wps/portal/paket/Home/privatkunden ). Once we have sufficient data and the technological solutions, we will calculate the shipping fees according to buyer/seller location, size of the item, weight of the item, etc.
You don't have to include the shipping costs in your asking price. We will take care of that. Whereever in the world you might be and whereever in the world the buyer might be, we will cover the shipping costs (please keep them reasonable and don't have James Bond accompanying your shipping, but use a standard way of shipping) ;)
